William Orr

Founder/Managing Director

I did not begin my career in a boardroom.

I grew up without much structure and became the first in my family to graduate high school. As a teenager, I experienced instability that forced me to mature early and take responsibility for my own direction. That season shaped how I think about discipline, resilience, and opportunity.

I joined the United States Marine Corps and spent 21 years serving. The Marine Corps gave me structure, standards, and a deep respect for accountability. Leadership there was not theoretical — it was lived.

Missions required clarity. Teams required trust. Results required execution.  When I retired in 2014, I carried those principles with me.

I earned a Master’s degree in Accounting and began building businesses focused on financial strategy and governance. Along the way, I led cybersecurity and operational initiatives in regulated environments, strengthening my experience in risk management, compliance frameworks, and executive decision-making.

Over time, I noticed something consistent across industries and communities: many organizations and individuals were not lacking intelligence or ambition — they were lacking structured leadership.

That realization led me to establish Veteran CFO Alliance LLC.

Veteran CFO Alliance is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business built to operate in federal and regulated environments while remaining accessible to individuals who need one-on-one guidance. It is structured to handle contracts and program-level responsibilities, but it is equally designed to sit across the table from a person seeking clarity in their financial or professional life.

I believe leadership should scale without becoming distant.

Through the Alliance, I bring together veteran-owned small businesses when broader capability is required. When direct engagement is needed, I work personally with clients to provide disciplined strategy, clear accountability, and steady execution.

My work is grounded in a simple belief:

  • Clarity creates confidence
  • Structure enables progress
  • and disciplined leadership changes outcomes.

Whether supporting a federal initiative, strengthening a growing business, or guiding an individual toward long-term goals, I approach every engagement the same way I approached service in uniform — mission-focused, principled, and accountable.

Veteran CFO Alliance is not built on marketing. It is built on trust, performance, and service.

And that is how I intend to keep it.
